Mr. Billy Wayne Bowman, 56, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at his home. Mr. Bowman was born July 11, 1945, in Surry County. He is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Bowman; a sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Richard Brown of Dobson; three brothers and a sister-in-law, David Bowman of Siloam, Tony Bowman of Mount Airy, and Dale and Charlotte Bowman of Siloam; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bowman. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home, and at the home of his mother on Willow Street immediately following the service.
