Mr. Alvin Hugh Fain, age 80 of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Patrick County on April 11, 1938 to the late Hobert M. Fain and Ida Dollarhite Fain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Fain and two infant brothers. Mr. Fain faithfully served in the United States Army. He was well known throughout the livestock community and took pride in working the cattle on his farm. He truly loved his family and enjoyed being Papa to his grandchildren.
Mr. Fain is survived by his son, Eric Fain of Stuart; three grandchildren, Ethan Fain, Kierstyn Fain, and Collin Fain; one brother, Melvin Fain and wife, Shelby of Stuart; three sisters, Mildred Clement and husband, Johnny, June Williams, and Opal Wilson, all of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Fain will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Gary Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fain-Handy Cemetery on Rye Cove Creek Road. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at other times at the home of his sister June Williams.
