​Mr. Charles Donald Hoover Sr

Mr. Charles Donald Hoover Sr., age 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born August 19, 1934 to the late Charles Milton and Lois Curtis Hoover. Mr. Hoover was a member of the Mt. Airy Elks Lodge #2061 and owned his own business, Hoovers Machine Shop, which he owned from, 1955-1986. Mr. Hoover was also very proud to be a Baja Bush Pilot for over 50 years during which he flew many local businessmen to various places throughout the region. Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Frances Hoover of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Conrad Kimbrough, Vickie Dupree, Mary and Chip Childress; son and daughter-in-law Charles Jr. and Janet Hoover; grandchildren, Candice Parker and husband Richard, Daniel Dupree; four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Jim Langstaff and Sarah and Glenn Martin. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with friends Steve Button and Dana Acker conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
