Ada Frances Goins Lee

Ms. Ada Frances Goins Lee, 96, of Mount Airy, passed away late Thursday afternoon, July 10, 2014, at Central Continuing Care. Ms. Lee was born November 20, 1917, in Surry County, one of five children born to the late Jim and Sarah McCraw Goins. Ada worked as a nursing assistant for many years. She is survived by a son, William Jerry Lee of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Charlie Goins of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Lee was preceded in death by a son, James A. Smith; two infant children; and three brothers, Rossie Goins, Cecil Goins, and George Goins. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
