Albert Arnold Simmons

Mr. Albert Arnold Simmons, age 83, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 19, 2025. Mr. Simmons was born in Stokes County, on March 16, 1942, to the late Rufus Albert and Lena Ervie Smith Simmons. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and sibling, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Simmons was a member of Asbury Presbyterian Church. Left to cherish Mr. Simmon’s memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia “Patty” Sloan Simmons; daughter and son-in-law, Christy Simmons Cassell and Chad; grandson, Avery Cassell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lana Covington and Paul, Pattie and Paul Scott; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy Simmons and Melanie, Alan Simmons and Sherri. In addition to his parents, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Simmons; paternal grandparents, Hersey “Bill” Simmons and Sadie Alice Chilton Simmons; maternal grandparents, Robert Reed Smith and Eva Sarah Hartman Smith. A celebration of Mr. Simmons life will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Asbury Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Asbury Presbyterian Church from 10:00 am until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Simmons family.
