Albert Lane Turner, age 75, of Woolwine, VA passed away in his home, with his family, on Friday, August 4, 2023. He was born in Patrick County on May 17, 1948 to Chester and Mildred Thomas Turner. Albert Lane had a passion for farming and antique Ford vehicles. He held many jobs throughout his life. He retired from Liberty Fabrics / Hanes Brands with service in multiple departments throughout his 20 years. Albert Lane enjoyed his employment at G. J. Ingram and Son Store and working for Glenn Roycroft, White Oak Contracting, LLC. His final passion was driving the logging truck for his grandson, Turner Logging. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He served in Vietnam and felt it a privilege to serve as a member of the Patrick County Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard for 41 years. He will be remembered by family and friends for his work ethic and willingness to help anyone in any situation.

Albert Lane is survived by the love of his life, Carol Turner and two children; Gene Turner (Cynthia) and Opal Rebecca Quesenberry (Lee). He adored his three grandchildren, Thomas Turner (Kelsey Fain), Kalayna Cassady (Lucus Sawyer), and Austin Beavers (Olivia Cassell) and his step grandchildren, William Black and Burke Black. The most enjoyment came from watching his two great grandchildren, Lexie Lane Turner and Lylah Kathleene Sawyer, and his step-great grandchildren, Waylon Strother, Karoline Sawyer, and Karter Sawyer. He is survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Alfred Turner (Aylees), Mitcheal Turner (Shelley), and Joan Turner (Oscar’s widow). He is also survived by his wife’s loving family, Ruby Nester, Shirley Belcher (Tony), and Wayne Hodges (Jenna). He was proud of his many nieces and nephews and their families.

Albert Lane was preceded in death by his son, William “Willie” Lane Turner, parents, an infant brother, Stephen, and his best friend and brother, Oscar Turner.

During his last days, he had a great celebration of his life, by an abundance of visits from family and friends. Each visit meant the world to him. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice and all his caretakers.
