Alesia Rae Newman Brooks

Mrs. Alesia Rae Newman Brooks, age 62, of Dobson, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her home. She was born on April 18, 1963 in Surry County to the late Jimmy Ray Newman and Celatha Collins Smith. She owned and operated Little Dumplins Daycare for 20 years, and later she worked as a housekeeper for Elkin Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and decorating as well as making crafts. She was a loving wife and mother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 30 years, Ben Brooks; daughter, Katie Brooks; sisters, Bonita Harrison (Mike), Pat Largen (John); brother, Charlie Newman (Peggy). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Ladonia Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Tony Holder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
