Alton Thomas "Tommy" Key

Mr. Alton Thomas “Tommy” Key, age 79, of Dobson, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, He was born October 16, 1945, in Forsyth County, to the late Hassell Paul Key and the late Mary Lettie Vernon Key.

Left to cherish his memories are his children and their spouses, Monica Carol Key, Thomas Craig and Teresa Key, Alton Todd Key, Tracy Key and her husband, Ted Minton, and Jason Paul Key; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jane Lynch Key; and nieces and nephew, Stephanie, Holly, Sandra, and Dale.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Key was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Sidney Comer Key, his second wife, Elizabeth Mitchell Key; and his brothers, Hassell Stephen “Steve” Key, and Teddy “Ted” Dale Key Mr. Key had a love for all, was sweet and kind, and only saw the good in everyone. He was also a generous man and a loving father. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the Pine Hill Friends Church Cemetery with Brother Tommy Shelton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zephyr Baptist Church, 985 Hodges Mill Road, Dobson NC 27017. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Key family.
