Ms. Amanda Kay Mikolay Slate, age 49, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. She was born on October 17, 1976, in Surry County to Peggy Jackson Hall. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Justin and Nathan Slate; parents, Peggy Hall (Ricky); companion, Chris Holt; sister and brother-in-law, Penny Haynes and Richie; stepbrother, Cory Hall; uncles, Ronnie Lee, Jack Hall; nephews, Gray Haynes, Mackenzie Haynes. Ms. Slate was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Mikolay. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Bro. Rick Jackson. Burial will follow in The Community Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
