Amna Vaughn Moseley

MOUNT AIRY - Mrs. Amna Vaughn Moseley, 82, born September 4, 1932, in Surry County, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 13, 2014. She married Wayne J Moseley, Sr. in 1951 and worked tirelessly to support her children. She operated a switchboard in Newport News, VA, and worked at Proctor-Silex Inc. in Mount Airy. She also won a coveted position as assistant to chief of police in Corona, CA; managed the poverty program in Mount Airy; owned a restaurant in Winston-Salem; was a patient care assistant and a devoted Servant of the Lord. She will be missed by loved ones: a sister, Yvonne (Mrs. Stan) Silver, TN; a son, Wayne and his wife, Sandra, of FL; daughters, Camille of TN and Denise (Mrs. Arnold) Shore of NC; and four grandchildren, Charity Tuttle, Taylor and Grant Moseley, and Lucas Shore. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada Hendricks and Ramey Vaughn; her husband, Wayne Moseley, Sr.; and two brothers, Grayson and Gayle Vaughn. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 19, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Calvin Vaughn, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends will be welcomed on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, and receiving family between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
