Annie "Virginia" Gravely

Miss Annie "Virginia" Gravely, 86 of Mt. Airy passed away at Golden Living Surry Community Sunday, July 20, 2014. She was born in Surry County on September 21, 1927 to the late Marion and Elvira Portis Gravely.
Miss Gravely retired from Central Telephone and was of the Methodist Faith. She is survived by her brother, Donald Gravely of the home; cousins, Clara Easter of Lowgap, Carol Hensley of Pilot Mountain, Mary lee Gravely of Mt. Airy, Bud Gravely of Oak Ridge, Katie Callahan of Pilot Mountain and Sylvia Hall of Indian Springs. In addition to her parents, Miss Gravely was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma and Magalene Gravely. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice home 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
