Annie Lee Hawks Jessup

Mrs. Annie Lee Hawks Jessup, age 90, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. She was born on November 14, 1935, in Surry County to the late Goble and Edith Hill Hawks. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Jessup was retired cafeteria worker for the Mount Airy School System and was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 66 years, Harry Edward Jessup; daughter and son-in-law, Leanne Shoffner (Stan); two grandchildren, Nick and Kenzie Shoffner; three sisters, Silla Dockery, Mary Leftwich and Linda Gwyn; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Lawson, and Jean Casstevens. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with service conducted by Rev. Rusty Reed and Rev. Mickey Cogdill. Entombment will be at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM Friday until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home.
