Annie Ruth Hodge Thomas

Mrs. Annie Ruth Hodge Thomas, age 93, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Central Continuing Care with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Thomas was born in Surry County on October 12, 1931, to the late Drew Franklin and Mary Maude Davenport Hodge. She worked for many years at Boyles Shoe Store as a sales associate. Mrs. Thomas attended Calvary Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she’ll be deeply missed by the many that knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Kim Thomas; great grandson, Carter Thomas; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Franklin Thomas; grandson, David Lee Thomas. Per Mrs. Thomas’ request, there will not be a public visitation. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Alex Martin officiating. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation known as Breakthrough T1D, Formerly JDRF, PO Box 5021 Hagerstown MD 21741-5021 in memory of her grandson, David Lee Thomas.
