Annie Rachel Vaughn Utt
Mrs. Annie Rachel Utt, age 89, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at her home. She was born in Carroll County on May 29, 1933, to the late Rev. Charlie and Lillie Mae Chappell Vaughn. Left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Teresa Akers; son and daughter-in-law, Neil Utt (Jackie); grandchildren, Chris Cooke (Misty), Neely Morris (Rob); great-grandchildren, Chainey Cooke (Schae), Cannon Cooke, Zach Willard, Ellik Ragland, Keylee Chilton (Colby); great-great-grandchildren, Kane, Case, Remi; brother, John Vaughn. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Utt was preceded in death by her husband James William Utt; sisters, Clara Leftwich, Ellen Flinchum, Hazel Easter, Orminta Fulk; brothers, Gaither, Henry, and Flavel Vaughn; son-in-law, Donald Akers. A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Larry Phillips. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
