Annie Wilmoth Willard

Mrs. Annie Josephine Wilmoth Willard, age 96, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Twelve Oaks Senior Living with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Willard was born in Surry County on January 20, 1928, to the late Genie Wilmoth and Letha Hicks Wilmoth. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had many traits in life, either working in the hosiery mills, or in housekeeping. Mrs. Willard is survived by her daughter, Melissa Slate; grandchildren, Gina Slate, Richie Slate; great grandchild, Kamron McBride. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willard was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jerry Slate; sister, Versie Warren; brothers, Delbert Wilmoth, Buster Wilmoth, Esker Wilmoth, Claude Wilmoth. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, 2:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Bro. Fred Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
