Annis Marie Fowler Comer

Mrs. Annis Marie “Meme Ree” Fowler Comer, age 56, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born October 9, 1967, in Surry County to Odell and Carolyn Draughn Fowler.   Marie was a beautiful soul who was full of life.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and compassionate nurse at Baptist Hospital for nearly 26 years. She will be deeply missed so much by those who loved her.  Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Kevin Comer; children, Hannah and Brett Stanley, Haley and Elliot Smith; grandchildren, Jack Stanley, Jude Stanley, Wilson Stanley, Eleanor Smith, Hattie Smith; parents, Odell and Carolyn Fowler; siblings, Cindy and Chris Stanley, Barry and Gina Fowler, Stephen and Renee Fowler, Keith and Rindy Comer; nieces and nephews, Kayla and Jonathan Norman, Adam and Stella Stanley, Cole and Olivia Fowler, Olivia and Payton Stull, Jess Fowler, Miles Fowler, Tristan and Kenzie Comer, Jordan Comer; great-nieces and nephews, Brandon Norman (Piper Dillon), Brodie Norman, Mamie Norman, Avery Stanley, Lane Stanley, Walker Stull, Henry Fowler; and her precious fur babies, Bella and CiCi.   She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Marylene Comer, brother-in-law, Kennis Comer, and sister-in-law, Kitty Comer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Nale and Speaker Jason Cogdill officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.   Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Surry County Animal Shelter, 172 County Home Road, Dobson, NC 27017, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, PO Box 315, Dobson, NC 27017 or to the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 7659, NC 268 Highway, Dobson, NC 27017.
