Arthur Wayne "AW" Moore

Mr. Arthur Wayne Moore, age 61, of Burlington, passed away Thursday afternoon August 24, 2023, at Alamance Regional Hospital in Burlington.  He was born on July 24, 1962, in Alleghany County to the late Burton Wayne Moore and Mary Lou Hawks Moore.  He was an auto mechanic and landscaper.  AW graduated from North Surry High School in 1980 and attended Surry Community College.  He loved listening to classic rock and country music and even made CDs for family and friends.  AW was of the Baptist faith and attended Linwood Baptist Church in Greensboro.  Left to cherish his memory are two sisters and a brother-in-law, Melissa Freeman and husband Rev. Craig Freeman, and Patricia Diane Moore; nephews, Daniel Matthew Ramey and wife Melissa, Andrew Freeman and wife Melissa, and Michael Freeman; nieces, Cassandra Rose Jones and Tabitha Freeman; great niece and nephews, Eli Ramey, Lane Ramey, Isacc Freeman, Noah Freeman, and Eleanor Freeman; several cousins; and many other family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Kay Moore.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Lowgap, NC with the Rev. Craig Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 12:30pm ~ 1:30pm on Sunday September 10, 2023.  The family would like to thank the Staff at Alamance Regional Hospital for all of the care they gave to AW.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials made me made in his memory to the American Heart and Lung Association.  AW would want everyone to know that he suffered from heart and lung disease.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
