Mr. Arthur Alfred Mosblech, 92, of 273 Robby Campbell Lane, Mount Airy, passed away early Thursday morning, May 5, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Mosblech was born June 21, 1918, in Saint Louis, MO, son of the late Frank Otto and Ella Breeher Mosblech. Arthur proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. Following his discharge from the Army, he worked as an electrician for the United States Federal Government for 23 years in California and Missouri. Mr. Mosblech was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, the Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion Post 123 of Mount Airy. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bertie Garretson Mosblech of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Paula and Thomas Evans of Pilot Mountain and Debra Campbell of Cana, VA; a son, Frank Mosblech of the home; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Bernice Greathouse of Saint Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mosblech was preceded in death by two sisters, Adele Hawks and Vera Lynch; and six brothers, Frank Mosblech, Al Mosblech, Ed Mosblech, Fritz Mosblech, Andy Mosblech, and Emil Mosblech. The funeral mass will be held Monday, May 9, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with Father Eric Kowalski officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
