Baby Quentin Alan Redd, age 1, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born on April 15, 2011 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Quentin is survived by his parents, Christopher and Nichole "Nikki" Gilley Redd of Stuart; his sister, Kayla Redd of the home; his grandparents, Rick and Denise Gilley of Henry and Mary Lou Redd of Stuart; great-grandparents, Curtis and Lena Young, Junior Gilley, Billy Joe and Marlene Meadows; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry Boley Redd, his maternal grandmother, Diane Gilley, and his maternal great-grandmother, Helen Gilley.
Quentin was a true blessing, not only to his family but to everyone. He brought us all together as a family, church family, and community, and brought us closer to God. Quentin's spirit was one of a true fighter. He fought a courageous fight, overcoming many challenges until he earned his wings. Fly, baby fly!
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Five Forks Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mike Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, 419 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27103.
