Barbara Gail Meredith Beck

Ms. Barbara Gail Meredith Beck, 62, of Ararat, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Beck was born October 29, 1946, in Surry County, to Maude Matthews Meredith and the late Warren G. Meredith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Joel Atkins of Ararat; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gray and Gail Beck and Donald and Angie Beck, all of Ararat; grandchildren, Brandi Beck, Laken Beck, Trenika Beck, Amber Hayden, Donald "D.J." Beck, Jr., and Alison Beck; seven great-grandchildren; her mother, Maude Matthews Meredith of Ararat; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Rick Meekins of Kernersville; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Edith Meredith, Stanley and Eva Meredith, and David and Debbie Meredith, all of Ararat. In addition to her father, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Joshua Wayne Hayden; and a sister, Carol Hawks. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, conducted by Rev. Robbie Sizemore. Burial will follow in the Beck Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
