Barbara Jean Chandler Ledford

Mrs. Barbara Jean Chandler Ledford, 84 of the Pine Ridge community, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on Sunday November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 3, 1941, in Surry County to the late George Washington Chandler and Mary Jane Dawson Chandler. She was a retired manager from Roses Department Store and a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and John Paul Jones, Kim and J. R. Inman, and Donna and Danny Smith; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Ledford, Jr. and Tami; six grandchildren, Ben Ledford, Beau Ledford, Jonathan and Brittany Inman, Tasha and James Gordon, Erica Trivette, and Ryan Jones; great grandchildren, Kailey Trivette, Leo Trivette, and Emersyn Grace Inman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by husband, Thomas “Tom” Ray Ledford; sister, Maggie Berrier; and four brothers, George William Chandler, Herbert Junior Chandler, Clyde Chandler, and Thomas Chandler. Funeral services will be held at Blue Ridge Baptist Church Wednesday November 26, 2025, at 1:00pm with Pastor Chris Park officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Ledford family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00pm at the church.
