Mrs. Barbara Joyce “Bobbie” Bowman Clement, 93, of Ararat, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Surry Community Health Center by Harborview, following several months of declining health. Mrs. Clement was born March 1, 1933, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Elmer Roosevelt and Nellie Lee Wilson Bowman. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lottie Bowman of Ararat, VA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Mildred Clement of Stuart, VA; and special friends and caregivers, Trina Bullins and Kristin Mills. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clement was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Romey Alexander “Rose” Clement; two sisters, Hazel Collins and Louise Eckenrod; and a brother, Clyde E. Bowman, Sr. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Clement Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
