Mrs. Barbara June Cornell Booth, 72 of Laurel Fork, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Mobile, AL on November 25, 1953, to the late William Dean Cornell and Earline Estelle Bell Moss. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who loved animals, especially her fur babies, Peanut and Goldie. Mrs. Booth was of the catholic faith and was retired from the transportation industry and an escort driver. She loved to cook, draw, paint, and work with her flowers. Mrs. Booth is survived by her husband, James Alvin Booth; son, Brian Dewrell; daughter, April Dawn Bemis; two granddaughters, Michelle Sword and Brittany Sword; sister, Charlene Cornell; and two brothers, Steve Cornell and Randy Cornell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Hope Cmile; granddaughter, Rebecca Sword; and a brother, Calvin Cornell. The family will hold a private memorial gathering at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
