Barbara Ann Sechrist Niten

Mrs. Barbara Ann Sechrist Niten, 67, of Ararat, VA passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born on March 9, 1947 to the late Robert Franklin and Laura Pack Sechrist. Mrs. Niten was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Airy First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Daryl Speas; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Dovie Niten; grandchildren, Miranda and Brandon Tate, James R. Niten and fiancée, Ashley Felts, Virginia Aron Niten, Jacob Tyler Speas; grandchild, Bethany Ann Tate; sisters, Emma Marie Bowman, Laura Kathren Noah; a brother, Kenneth Robert Payne; a special son, Kevin Daniel Payne and wife Bridget; her fiancé, Ross D. McMillian; her extended family and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Niten was preceded in death by her husband, James William Niten; a grandchild, heavenly angel Daryl Junior Speas; sister, Mary Ellen Sechrist; brothers, Robert Junior Sechrist, and Buck Franklin Sechrist. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Frazier, and the Rev. Tommy Vass officiating. Burial will follow in Barnard Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
