Ms. Barbara Annette Williams, age 80 of Claudville, VA passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on December 31, 1945 to Woodrow Thompson Williams and Emma Nell Jones Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Ray Hall; great-granddaughter, Allora Doss; sister, Mary Ellen Scott; brothers, Jesse W. Williams, Wade Williams, Billy Lee Williams, and Johnny Williams.
Annette loved to garden, tend to her plants indoors and outdoors, sew, mend, knit, spin and weave. She was an avid reader from her many magazines, books, and her Bible. She made countless sweaters, shirts, skirts, and dresses for herself, her daughters, and grandchildren. She could repair almost anything with a needle and thread. Annette greatly enjoyed the outdoors from fishing with her brothers and sisters to cracking walnuts, probably most days of her life along with working in her yard letting almost anything grow that she could. She enjoyed watching many television shows including The Virginian, Magnum P.I., and any others with Tom Selleck.
Annette loved her children unconditionally, caring for them and their families as she knew best. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a love that each of them will cherish and have to remember her by. She was a unique character who always found a way to smile, loved her family, her vast number of brothers and sisters along with her many friends, co-workers, and neighbors. She retired from E.I. DuPont with 32 years of service.
Annette is survived by three daughters, Lynda Raye Hall Chandler (Jeff), Tamra Annette Hall Smith (Terry), Natalie Susanne Hall (Joey); seven grandchildren, Emma Shae Hall-Pack, Anna Obst (Erik), Brad Chandler, Will Smith, Samantha Smith, Kelly Martin (Nick), Maggie Martin (Jake), Taylor Annette Smith, and Addisyn Hall; nine great-grandchildren, Benny Pack, Emmi Pack, Tecora Pack, Alex Pack, Eoghan Obst, Eabha Obst, Luca Felton, Grant Martin, Elilidh Obst, and Lynley Martin; three brothers, Jimmy Williams, Danny Williams (Connie), and Sammy Williams (Teresa); four sisters, Daisy Hylton, Jeanette Scott, Joan Roop, and Rachel Reynolds; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Harger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Annette’s funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Chapel with Mike Hall officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, September 18, 2026 at Moody Funeral Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00.
