Barry Eugene "Hopper" Harless

Mr. Barry Eugene “Hopper” Harless, 68, of Lowgap, North Carolina passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024. Born March 12, 1956, in Tazwell County Virginia, to the late Eugene Benson and Gracie Thomas Harless. Hopper was a proud veteran and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Hopper obtained his associates degree and began working as an electronic technician. He was an avid hunter and reader. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter and son-in-law, Martina and Marty Bartley; son, Maximilian Christoph; grandchildren, Jessie Christoph, Cale Bartley and Jamie Porter, and Ashley Banks; great-grandchildren, Marty Bartley, Aubrey Barton, Mark Bartley, and Kallie Banks; sister, Sharon Amos, and Cathy Whitt; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Hopper was preceded in death by his wife, Gabrielle Weinberger Harless. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A burial service will take place Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Salisbury National VA Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, NC is serving the Harless family.
