Barry Dean Hawks

Mr. Barry Dean Hawks, 81, of Ararat, passed away Monday morning, September 2, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Hawks was born May 21, 1943, in Surry County, the son of the late Edgar and Nina Johnson Hawks. Barry worked as a computer hardware engineer for many years and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Lou Combs Hawks; a daughter, Angel Shannon Hawks; a son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Celeste Hawks; his grandchildren, Caleb and Stephanie Hawks, Landon Hawks, and Jackson Hawks; and a half-sister and her husband, Linda and Tim Cox. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
