Betty Sutphin Davis

Mrs. Betty Sutphin Davis, age 74 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on March 3, 1940, and was preceded in death by her mother, Kizzie Logan Sutphin; two nephews, Linnie Dewayne Pack and Terry Wayne Pack; and one niece, Rhonda Lynn Pack. She had worked for DuPont in Martinsville for 33 years and later for Lowes Foods. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Mrs. Davis is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Luci Davis of Dry Pond; two grandchildren, Cindy Davis of Salem and Drew Davis of Blacksburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan S. and Garland L. Pack of Vesta and one brother and sister-in-law, Roy L. and Shirley Sutphin of Stuart; several nieces and nephews; her faithful, loving companion, Wilson Shelton of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; and her K-9 friend, Tater-tot.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Patty Hazelwood, 1988 Wayside Road, Stuart, Virginia 24171.
