Betty Jo Faw

Mrs. Betty Jo Wilson Faw, age 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away after a brief illness at Homestead Hills, Skilled Nursing Facility and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior.  She passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 13, 1933, in Surry County to the late Earl Wilson, Sr. and Linda Moore Wilson. She lived most of her life in Mount Airy and retired from Baldwin’s Department Store.  She was a member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herbert E. Faw in 2009.  She is survived by one son, Herbert (Gary) Faw and wife Pat of Knightdale, NC; one daughter, Sharon Faw Holder and husband Jeff of Clemmons; one sister, Mildred Montgomery of Perrysburg, OH; grandchildren, Chris and Laura Faw of Knightdale, Ryan and Liz Faw of Garner, Beth and Nick Perkins of Knightdale, Jeffrey and Kimberly Holder of Elizabeth City, and Ben and Charlotte Holder of Clemmons; ten great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Ann Faw, and Rachel and William Puckett; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Faw was preceded in death by sisters, Maggie Burkett, Mary Ruth Barker, and Estelle Thomas and brothers, Garnett Wilson, Charlie Wilson, Earl Wilson, Jr., and Edward Wilson.  Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM, January 11, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. David Sparks.  Burial will follow in Midkiff Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Falcon Children’s Home (a ministry of the Pentecostal Holiness Church) 7569 N.
