Betty Lou Smith Meadows

Mrs. Betty Lou Smith Meadows, 77, of 564 North Franklin Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Meadows was born March 2, 1931, in Surry County, to the late Ed McKinley and Lelia Ann Hall Smith. She was the owner and operator of Rainbow Child Care and a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Easter and Debbie and Ronnie Hardy, all of Mount Airy; two sons, Bobby Meadows and fiancee, Cheryl Easter, and David Meadows, all of Mount Airy; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Kellie Easter, Sherry Tate, Greg and Kristy Easter, Tenielle Meadows, Trevor Meadows, Benji and Angie Meadows, Christy and Brian Beatty, Steven and Peggy Meadows, Corey Meadows, Kelly and Katie Meadows, Scotty Joe Parker, and Breannan Meadows; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Meadows was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Lee O. Meadows; a sister, Vivian Cassell; and a brother, Herman Smith. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Highland Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
