Billy Allen "Bill" Belton

Mr. Billy Allen “Bill” Belton, age 89, of Glen Allen, Virginia, formerly of Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 20th, 2023, at Bon Secours Community Hospice in Chesterfield, Virginia.  Mr. Belton was born in Surry County, North Carolina on March 30th, 1934, to the late L. Caney and Jewel Shackleford Belton.  Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church as both a part of the choir, and as a Sunday school teacher, until his move to Virginia. Surviving Mr. Belton is his daughter, Cynthia Lou Belton; two brothers, James Eldridge Belton, and L.C. Belton; two nieces, Debbie Brannock and Candy Brisendine; three nephews, Phillip, Chad, and Jeff Belton; as well as several grand-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Belton was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Caudle Belton; a brother, Bobby Belton; and a sister-in-law, Opal Faye Hall Belton.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Alex Martin officiating.  Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 2019 Mount Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Flowers are appreciated, or a donation made in Bill’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 225 N.
