Billy Dwight Hiatt

Mr. Billy Dwight Hiatt, 65, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday evening, April 18, 2026, at his home as the result of a house fire. Mr. Hiatt was born September 15, 1960, in Surry County, the son of the late Herman Guy Hiatt, Sr. and Louella Poteat Hiatt Day. He graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1978 and was employed for many years with the water department for the City of Winston-Salem. Billy is survived by his sister, Cynthia Hiatt McGee; his brother, Herman Guy Hiatt, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
