Billy Francis Jurney

Mr. Billy Francis Jurney, 55, of 1903 Longburn Drive, Kernersville, passed away early Sunday morning, March 16, 2014, at his home. Mr. Jurney was born March 21, 1958, in Surry County, to Pauline Watson Jurney Mitchell and the late Francis Hoots Jurney. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Zachary and Ashley Jurney of Galax, VA; two grandchildren, Eli Jurney and Tanner Jurney, both of Galax, VA; his mother and stepfather, Pauline and Jack D. Mitchell of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Mark Lee Tarn of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary Matthew and Virginia Jurney of Winston-Salem; two nieces, Nicki Tarn and Taylor Tarn, both of Virginia Beach, VA; four aunts, Wanda Deatherage of Stuart, VA, Geraldine Midkiff of Pilot Mountain, Mary Bell of North Wilkesboro, and Thelma Jurney of Union Grove; and his significant other, Gloria Konkula of Kernersville. In addition to his father, Mr. Jurney was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Winnie and Houston Jurney; his maternal grandparents, Vadie Lynch Watson and Jesse Daniel Watson; a special aunt, Annie Belle McBride; and an aunt, Gean Lindsey. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Zion Baptist Church in Union Grove, with the Rev. Mike Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Zion Baptist Church, 714 Union Grove Road, Union Grove, NC.
