Blanche Pauline Scherrer

Mrs. Blanche Pauline Scherrer, age 97 of Mission, TX and formerly of Mount Airy, passed away in Mission, TX on August 30, 2015. Mrs. Scherrer was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 22, 1917 to the late John Vincent and Freida Elizabeth Hammer Schadt. While living in Mount Airy for eighteen years, Mrs. Scherrer was a member of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church. She was an amazing person with many talents. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking for her family. Surviving are a son, Richard C. Sherrer; grandchildren, Heidi Aleman and husband, Robert "Rob", Cris Scherrer and wife, Lisa, Greg Scherrer and wife, Emily; and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Scherrer is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Scherrer. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, September 5, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery by the Rev. Father Lawrence Heiney. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home but anyone is welcome to go by Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy to pay their respects to Mrs. Scherrer.
