Bobby Handon Edwards

Mr. Bobby Handon Edwards, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday night, June 11, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Edwards was born July 21, 1946, in Surry County, one of four sons born to the late Glen and Cora Belle Mayes Edwards. Bobby retired from M and M Signs and Awnings, Inc., where he worked for many years as a fabricator and installer. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished the time he spent in the outdoors. He is survived by his son, William Glenn Edwards; his grandson, Brett Alexander Edwards; his great-grandson, Karson Edwards; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lester Philip Edwards and Henry and Luann Edwards. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Hodges Edwards; his grandson, Jordan William Edwards; and his brother, Buck Edwards. A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Edwards Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
