Bobby Wayne Gammons

Mr. Bobby Wayne Gammons, 81, of Mount Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2022, in Stuart, VA.  Mr. Gammons was born December 5, 1940, in Surry County, one of three children born to the late James Oakley and Odie Woods Gammons.  Bobby served our country in the United States Army Reserve, and he retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after many years of service.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.  He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Todd Gammons of Westfield and Brad and Lori Gammons of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Chase Gammons and Hunter Gammons, both of Westfield, and Ellie Gammons and Luke Gammons, both of Mount Airy; a sister, Wanda Taylor of Kernersville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Lottie Gammons of Claudville, VA.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gammons was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Berrier Gammons.  A private graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery.  No formal visitation will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.  Moody Funeral Services is serving the family.
