Bobby Lee Phillips

Mr. Bobby Lee Phillips, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, August 20, 2025, at King Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Phillips was born March 28, 1947, in Surry County, one of thirteen children born to the late Joseph Eldridge and Pearlie Edwards Phillips. In his younger years, he worked as a general laborer at a local sawmill, where he was respected for his reliability and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Bobby had a deep love for gardening – a place where he found solace and satisfaction. On warm, sunny days, neighbors could often spot him riding through town on his moped, enjoying the fresh air with a quiet smile. It was just like him to take the time to appreciate the beauty of a day, never in a rush, always content in the moment. He is survived by a sister, JoAnn Phillips Willard; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by eleven siblings. No formal visitation or service will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
