Mr. Bobby Stone Simpson, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Givens Aldersgate in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in Surry County, North Carolina, on February 13, 1932, to William Stoneman Simpson and Bessie Stanley Simpson.
Bobby graduated from the National Business College in Roanoke, Virginia. He co-owned and operated W.S. Simpson Mill in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, for over 30 years. He was a faithful and humble man who loved his church, family, and music, and his life was a testament to these passions.
Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Simpson, and is survived by his wife, Helen McCourt. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Junior Simpson; and his sister, Susie Smith. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Ronnie Simpson, and his wife, Vicky, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his daughter, Darlene Pritchard, and her husband, Rob, of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandson, Dustin Simpson, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and his great-grandchildren, Brodie and John Ryder; and his grandson, Michael Jason Pritchard, and his wife, Marcela, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Through his children and grandchildren, Bobby’s legacy of faith and family values will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Double Creek Church of Christ Cemetery, with the Rev. Scott Meadows officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to Hospice – VIA Health Partners, 7845 Little Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina 28226.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
