Bonnie Golden Collins

Mrs. Bonnie Golden Collins, age 75, of State Road, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, at her residence. She was born June 24, 1948, In Surry County, to the late Walter Paul Golden and the late Ella Guyer Golden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Gary Lee Collins; and her brother, Roy Golden.

            Mrs. Collins was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, who also loved the Lord, singing, gardening and working with her flowers. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, until her husbands passing in 2011. She then began her membership with her Salem Baptist Church family. Left to cherish her memories are her sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Shannon Collins, and David and Samantha Collins; her grandchildren, Justin, Avery, Gray, Jackson, and Conrad Collins; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Collins Simmons; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. She is also survived by her furry canine companion, Bentlee.

            Visitation will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 PM, at Salem Baptist Church. Services will begin at 3:00 PM in the church with Rev. John Kennedy and Rev. Will Toburen officiating. Burial will follow in the Golden Road Cemetery, 286 Golden Road, State Road, NC 28676.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Salem Baptist Church (Seniors Ministry), 430 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Collins family.
