Bonnie Jean Stewart Ray, of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, born February 3, 1939, in Yadkin County; went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on May 9, 2026, at the age of 87.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Mark Ray and wife Robin. One granddaughter and husband, Lindsay Ray Gammons and TC, and one grandson, Jared Ray. Two great-granddaughters, Khloe and Peyton Gammons.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Max Ray. Also, preceding Mrs. Ray in death were her parents, Duncan and Lillie Stewart and her brothers and sisters: Sammy and Finney Stewart, Fronia Brown, Nell Bailess, Lois Eads, Pearl Holcomb, Ruth Ray, Ruby Carter.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, JoAnn Stewart Taylor, and special nieces, Annette Johnson, Sarah Hartman, Brenda Adams and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Bonnie retired from Sara Lee Hosiery, in 1994, after 30 years of service. She was of Baptist faith and loved to sing, dance, play the piano, and journal about her life and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her, but she is singing and dancing with Jesus now and we are so happy for her.

There will be a grave side service at, Brims Grove Baptist Church, 3509 NC Highway 268, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041, on Sunday May 17, 2026, at 2:00pm. With service conducted by Rev. Gerald Jones and T.C. Gammons. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Rose Tara Senior Living and Mountain Valley Hospice for all their loving care.
