Brenda Mae King

Mrs. Brenda Mae King, age 77, of Mount Airy, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 19, 2025. She was born in Surry County on July 13, 1947, to the late Roy Samuel Honeycutt and Savada Laura Edwards Honeycutt. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she’ll be deeply missed by all that knew her. She was a very faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church, where she loved the Lord, and her family meant the world to her. She had retired from Hanes Brand after 31 years of being a supervisor. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and being known as a seamstress. Left to cherish Mrs. King’s memories is her loving and faithful husband of 60 years, Kermit Roland King; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Pete King and Beverly, Wayne King and Regina; grandchildren, Samantha King, Tiffany Russell and Eli; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha Marcela and Rev. Mike, Linda Senter and GC, Judy Edwards and Roy; brother, Fred Honeycutt; many loved nieces and nephews; special nephews, Rigney Marcela and Braxton Marcela. In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Janice Honeycutt. A celebration of Mrs. King's life will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, at Woodland Baptist Church at 12:00 PM with the Rev. Pete King and Rev. Mike Marcela officiating. A burial will follow in the Midkiff Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Woodland Baptist Church on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the King family.
