Ms. Brenda Jones Peele, 66, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, April 25 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Peele was born September 14, 1950, in Surry County, the daughter of the Willie Benton and Josephine Atkins Jones. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Matthew Tabor; a son, Tim Peele; her grandchildren, Joshua Cole Tabor and Heather Nicole Tabor; a sister, Mae Busick; a brother and four sisters-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Jones, Opal Jones, Janet Jones, and Charlotte Jones; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Linda Ovide; and a special friend, Dawn Williams. In addition to her parents, Ms. Peele was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Jones and Georgie Pike; and three brothers, Junior Jones, Gaston Jones, and Wesley Jones. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Church Family Life Center Building Fund, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621.
