Brian Dennis Marion

Brian Dennis Marion, 57, passed away on September 24 in Johnson City, Tennessee. Born on February 25, 1969, in Burbank, California, Brian lived a life defined by adventure, friendship, and a deep love for his family. His warm spirit, generous heart, and ability to connect with people wherever he went left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah of the home; his daughters, Chloe and Ainsley Marion of Fort Mill, South Carolina; and Evelyn Larkin of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Samuel "Butch" Marion, and Linda Marion of Shoals; his sister, Cindy Foley (John) of Kernersville; and his brother, Tommy Marion (Michelle) of Shoals. He leaves behind his cherished nephews and niece Brayden Foley and Connor Foley of Kernersville, and Carson Marion of Shoals, and niece Mallory Marion of Shoals. Brian is also survived by parents Dennis and Wendy Bottomley of Sparta Tennessee, brother Jeff Bottomley and nephews Cheyenne and Cedar Bottomley of Phoenix Arizona. Brian was preceded in death by his son, Cole Marion. A 1987 graduate of East Surry High School and a 1991 graduate of East Carolina University, Brian pursued both his personal passions and professional ambitions with enthusiasm and determination. He was an avid golfer and talented guitar player who had a lifelong love of motorcycles, boating, and travel. His adventures took him around the world, and along the way he built friendships that spanned continents. Brian considered himself fortunate to have worked for outstanding companies throughout his career, which allowed him to pursue the interests he loved most. Brian will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for family, and the countless friendships he cultivated over a lifetime of travels and experiences. His presence brought joy, laughter, and companionship to so many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life service will be held in his hometown on Saturday, October 3, at Fairview Church of Shoals, located at 3692 Quaker Church Road, Pinnacle, North Carolina. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will be held afterward in the church fellowship hall. A memorial gathering will also be held in Johnson City, Tennessee on Saturday October 17, at the Carnegie Hotel located at 1216 West State on Franklin Road, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. We invite friends and family to drop in, share fond memories, and spend time together. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oligo Nation at oligonation.org in Brian's memory.
