Bruce Dean Atkins

Mr. Bruce Dean Atkins, 62, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Atkins was born December 5, 1951, in Forsyth County, to the late James Ellis and Thelma Marion Atkins. Mr. Atkins retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. He is survived by a niece; two nephews; several cousins; and several special friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Patton; and a brother, Charles Henry Atkins. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 11, 2014, at 2:00 PM at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. David Tucker and the Rev. Dale Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
