Bruce Claude Brim

Mr. Bruce Claude Brim, 78, of 248 Quaker Road, Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, November 17, 2014, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Brim was born September 26, 1936, in Patrick County, VA, to the late John Meiggs and Nannie Alice Anderson Brim. Bruce graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1956. After his high graduation, he entered the United States Army and served two years as a private first class. He later worked as a knitting machine fixer in several textile mills throughout Mount Airy. Mr. Brim was a member of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by a son, Bruce Anthony Brim of Pilot Mountain; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brim was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Ruth Brim, Mabel Timmons, and Rachel Surber; and four brothers, Wayne Louis Brim, David Meiggs "Junior" Brim, Thomas Brim, and Warren Brim. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Dr. David Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
