Byron Lee Bowman

Mr. Byron Bowman, age 76, of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.  He was born in Stokes County on March 5, 1942 to the late Charlie Lee and Virgie Snow Bowman and later migrated to Cambridge Massachusetts where he taught at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School for over 30 years before moving back to North Carolina.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Berit Bowman of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Peter Bowman, Benjamin Bowman and wife Abigail Sue; grandchildren Magnus and Phineas Bowman; brothers and sister-in-law, Samuel and Rita Bowman, Foley Bowman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia and Earl Shelton, Bessie and Eric Comer, as well as many nieces and nephews and many great- nieces and nephews.
