Mr. Calvin Benton “Chico” Thomas, age 89 of Westfield, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his home. Mr. Thomas was born on January 28, 1937, in Surry County to the late Ashby Benton and Lena Estelle Kevitt Thomas. Chico was a loving husband, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Chico is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Gerldine Chilton Thomas, two sisters, Lena Reddick of Fuquay-Varina and Peggy Jo Wood of Westfield. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Thomas; and a brother Roger Eli Thomas.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating. Military Rites conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mount Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. No formal visitation will be held at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
