Carl McKinley Edwards

Mr. Carl McKinley Edwards, 67, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on October 7, 1947 to the late William McKinley and Flossie Brooks Edwards. Mr. Edwards proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by daughters, Melissa Thomson, and Amanda Stegall; grandchildren, Ryan Corley, Lyndsey Corley, Madison Stegall, Nathan Stegall, Lillian Stegall; sisters, Evelyn Newman, and Ruth Boyd; a brother, Jerry Edwards; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at moody Funeral home in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
