Carl Eugene "Gene" Martin, Jr.

Mr. Carl Eugene “Gene” Martin, age 79, of Mount Airy passed away on Saturday morning, October 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Martin was born on October 18, 1946, in Surry County to the late Carl Eugene Martin, Sr. and Ruth Louise Banner Martin. Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Martin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Susan Brinkley Martin; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy Martin and Renee, David Martin, Ronnie Martin and Jessica; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Faye and Clay Draughn. No formal services will be held at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
