Carlene Slate Taylor

Mrs. Carlene Slate Taylor, age 83 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Carlene was born on December 24, 1940, in Surry County to the late Robert Thomas and Geneva Mable Hooker Slate. Carlene was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving is her son, James Adrian Taylor; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas Slate, Bob Slate and Lucy, Melvin Slate and Christine, brother-in-law; Ricky Taylor and Ann; sister-in-law, Bonnie Tolbert; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, James Duke Taylor; sisters-in-law, Wanda Slate and Jean Slate; brother-in-law, Jackie Tolbert, Ted Taylor. No formal services will be held at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
